La Désirade is a small island measuring 11 km by 2 km located in the Caribbean and dependent on the Guadeloupe. An island preserved from mass tourism and kept in its wild state. A single tarmac road, wind turbines for electricity, running water which only arrived in 1991… we are far from the charter islands and that is all its charm. An island to dream and disconnect, far from the pressure of civilization, watching the cetaceans pass by offshore... "Oh, island so desired..." is what Christopher Columbus' sailors sang in unison, facing this first land sighted 21 days after leaving the Canary Islands. Hence its name, so envied: La Désirade! An island so desired that a poster was even made so that you can fly there in the blink of an eye...
